Celebrate the 2026 Awards
The AIPH World Green City Awards 2026 will be celebrated on Tuesday 15 September 2026, when the Winners will be announced during the AIPH Horticultural Industry Conference, part of the 78th AIPH Annual Congress in Bari, Italy.
The announcement will take place at Castello Svevo di Bari, bringing the Awards to an international gathering of horticultural industry leaders and partners.
We will celebrate the achievements of the 21 Finalist cities and reveal the seven Category Winners, Youth Award Winner, Certificates of Merit recipients and the AIPH World Green City Award 2026 Grand Winner.

The 2026 Awards announcement will recognise cities at the forefront of using plants, nature and innovative green city approaches to create healthier, more resilient and more sustainable urban environments.
The Awards announcement will also be available to watch online. We are currently finalising the arrangements and will publish further details ahead of 15 September.
The results will be shared across AIPH’s digital and social media channels immediately following the announcement, with further communications and international media activity continuing afterwards.
Attendance in Bari
Finalist cities and members of the wider AIPH World Green City Awards community are very welcome to join us in Bari should they be able and wish to attend.
We recognise that the revised arrangements have been confirmed at short notice and there is no expectation for Finalist cities or other representatives to make new international travel arrangements in order to participate.
Finalist cities should refer to the information provided directly by the AIPH Green City Team regarding attendance arrangements.

Sharing the Finalist and Winner stories worldwide
The Awards announcement is just one part of how AIPH will celebrate the 2026 Finalists and Winners.
AIPH is developing an ongoing international communications and media programme to showcase the cities, share the impact of their initiatives and make the knowledge generated through the Awards accessible to a wider international audience.
We are pleased to be working with Associated Press Content Services as an Awards media partner, alongside FloraCulture International (FCI) and our wider media partners, to help amplify these stories internationally.
AP Content Services will join AIPH in Bari, capturing content around the Awards and supporting our wider ambition to bring the achievements and experiences of the Finalist and Winning cities to audiences around the world.
Further Finalist and Winner stories, case studies, photography, video and media content will be shared following the announcement.
An important update to the 2026 Awards
The Awards announcement in Bari replaces the AIPH World Green City Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner previously planned for Hong Kong on 29 October 2026.
While the way we are bringing the 2026 Awards community together has changed, our commitment to celebrating city achievements, sharing their stories internationally and creating opportunities for cities to learn from one another remains unchanged.
The planned AIPH World Green City Awards workshops at the IFLA World Congress in Hong Kong will also no longer take place. However, delegates who are already planning to attend the 62nd IFLA World Congress are of course still very welcome to do so, and the Congress programme will continue as planned.
